Created Issue: "Surround With" Dropdown list does not work

Hi, I downloaded the PreCode Code Snippet Manager. I notice that the plugin seems to works under Windows7, but not XP. When I click on the "Surround With" drop down, it doesn't show the list "PRE, TEXTAREA". Looking into this carefully, it appears that this drop down, including the "Highlighter Class" drop down shows behind the main WPF form. I end up using the keyboard arrow key to change my selection.

There is a font scaling issue using PreCode under Windows 7. All the button and options still work and are visible - but text for buttons is clipped. Looking into it... may consider moving to a WPF UI.

Hi - thanks for this. Totally swamped at the moment - but will fix this in a week or two and post an update (ideally making the brushes and tags configurable).

1. A NAnt version > 0.86 Beta 1 is needed (nightly) to work successfully on Vista without anything else installed (otherwise, you'll get an "sdkInstallRoot not defined" error).
2. When using such a NAnt version inclusion of System.dll as reference is missing from the build script (Regex and the generic collections are not found otherwise).
3. WindowsLive.API.dll is looked for in Program Files (x86), this only applies to 64 bit systems. On 32 bit, you need to fix the path manually.
4. The WiX setup would not run for me, I simply deployed the two dlls manually.

Hi - thanks for the feedback - much appreciated. I'll look into the NAnt and WindowsLive.API.dll dependencies.

I've just tested the 4.0.1 msi installer on Vista 32bit and Vista 64bit - and both worked fine with Windows Live Writer 2009. Live writer was able to find the DLLs based on the registry settings ok - in the C:\Program Files\FiftyEightBits\PreCodePlugin directory - so hopefully you shouldn't have to copy the DLLs across.

Right now the plugin emits class attributes which no longer work with the newest SH version v2.

Release 4.0.1 now supports SyntaxHighlighter 2.0 - and within SyntaxHighlighter there is a legacy shLegacy.js support script for backward compatibility with previous posts.

I was able to patch the current source version successfully, but I am not able to run NAnt on my Vista. The error I always get is that sdkInstallRoot has not been set correctly for .NET 2.0. Although I have tried several things to fix this, I was not successful.

When will there be a new version of this addin be available which includes the fix? Any plans on this?

Here goes the patch!

It may be a good idea to add a dropdown for selecting the version of SyntaxHighlighter your server supports... or maybe you just tell people to get the latest and greatest :)
